I am Prabjot Kaur. I was born and raised in India. I moved to United States in 2004. I earned my first Bachelor’s Degree in Education from India. I restarted my studies from Queensborough Community College in 2005, majoring in Liberal Arts and Science and transferred to Queens College. Therefore, I earned my second Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. I am certified in both Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I taught Universal Pre-Kindergarten for 2 years at Cross Island YMCA.
I have had the privilege of teaching Universal Pre-Kindergarten at Highland Academic since September 2014 and truly enjoy every single day here! I am passionate about my profession. I believe that each child is unique and has a potential to learn and talent to share. I would like to create an educational environment where the students can thrive intellectually and be enriched with enthusiastic activities.
Hello, I am Ms. Tabitha. This is the third year that I will serve as an Assistant Teacher at Highland Academics. I am passionate about introducing children to reading, the sciences and the arts—to prepare them to be well rounded students.
Prior to Highland Academics, I taught art to middle school-age children at a Flushing YMCA after school program. I volunteered with organizations in El Salvador and Kenya to educate and promote safety for street children. I also directed children’s choirs and helped children to produce dramatic presentations in local New York organizations.
I have a professional background in public relations and web content management. And I hold a MA in Cross-cultural Studies and a BA in Communication.
I am Ravinder Kaur, an assistant teacher at Highland Academics. I was born and raised in India where I earned my bachelors degree in liberal arts. I first began my career as an assistant teacher in 2001.
I am very dedicated to my work. I enjoy working along side with the teacher watching children develop from when they first walk into the classroom keeping to themselves to opening up with the rest of the group. These years are crucial for child development not only do I hope to help the student but to be left with an impact by them too.
Hi Families! My name is Charlotte Ranjit and I am very excited to join the Highland Academics team and introduce myself to you. I am a recent graduate of St. John’s University with my MS in Early Childhood Education. I received my BA from Hunter College. Prior to this, I have gained teaching experience in private schools, agencies and tutoring centers.
Every experience I have had thus far has solidified my passion for education and I am ready to share this new experience with you. My classroom is my second home where we learn new things every day and I am looking forwarding forward to sharing it with your children.
Hello! My name is Louis Li. My parents are of Chinese descent and but I was born and raised in Jackson Heights. I recently graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and am planning to pursue a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. This is my first year at Highland Academics and I am excited to share my ideas, passion, and love for teaching with our parents, students, and colleagues.
In my classroom, I will foster a meaningful, cooperative, and interactive environment in which to develop our children’s independence, confidence, and academic success.
My name is Patricia Magloire. I was born in Brooklyn, NewYork. I am of Haitian descent. I am also a dual language speaker. I graduated from Brooklyn College (CUNY) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) from Mercy College. I have 6+ teaching experience from various grades from nursery through 2nd grade. My favorite things to do are; shopping, spending time with my family and friends, dancing and going on vacation.
I decided to become a teacher because I am very passionate about enriching children’s lives through the power of education. I believe that each child has the ability to greatly succeed in life. As a Universal Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, I believe that instilling a strong educational foundation is the key to a successful educational future.

Hello ! My name is Patricia Nelson. This is my 7th year in the teaching field and my 3rd year teaching pre-kindergarten. I have a Early Childhood’s Bachelors Degree from Brooklyn College. I am currently working on my Masters degree from Walden University in Elementary Reading and Mathematics (k-6).
I enjoy dancing, partaking in new adventures with my husband and creating memories with my family and friends. I am an avid pinner on Pintrest and Youtube watcher; I love doing D.I.Y’s.
My love for teaching started at the age of 5 when I had to teach my parents the English language. I love teaching younger children and opening their minds to endless possibilities.
